The Californian sardine stocks collapsed after the mid 1940's. According to
Rothschild (1986) there was a fishing moratorium and the fishery did not
recover until early 1980s. Because this is a well studied fishery, there
should be a number of publications on the effect of fishing moratorium. My
question is: Did the Californian sardine fishery recover to the earlier
status after fishing moratorium enforcement? If so, actually when?
