Dear fish ecologists,
At present myself and colleagues are involved in a study examining the
influence that a proposed marina may have on fish populations in a small
marine embayment in south-western Australia. The marina is proposed to be
constructed on a sandy beach with a relatively shallow gradient. The area
is surrounded by fairly extensive meadows of seagrass and appears to be an
important nursery area for some fish species. We have had a literature
search carried out on this topic, without a great deal of success in
acquiring literature that focuses on the influence of the construction of
marinas on the fish populations. I am therefore hoping that the fish
ecology forum will be a little more fruitful. We would greatly appreciate
details of any publications and/or any information regarding this topic.
Thanks in advance.
