The automated feeder is interesting, but I wonder if caution is
warranted when using lead pellets in the device since lead is a known
fish neurotoxin and can have many behavioral effects at extremely low
dose. Especially if tank water chemistry is either low hardness or
circum neutral to low pH. Even touching the lead could contaminate
the tank environment... perhaps testing the water for dissolved lead
levels prior to installation of feeder and again after.... or just
avoiding lead in the design altogether.
