Fish Folks-
I've started using the DOS-based MicroFish 3.0 (1989) program to estimate
fish numbers based on multiple pass electrofishing. In addition to the
population estimate, the program also creates upper and lower confidence
intervals. However, neither the program nor the manual give any specific
information about which confidence intervals are given (i.e, 90%, 95%, 99%,
or some other %). I have not been able to track down the program's
authors, John S. Van Deventer and William S. Platts, to ask them directly.
I'd appreciate it greatly if you had any information regarding which
confidence intervals the program uses, contact information for the authors,
and/or information on more current MicroFish versions or other free
software that does the same thing.

Thanks in advance.
