Three postdoctoral positions are available to study sea lamprey sex
pheromone communications.
Position 1: To study production and release of a male sex pheromone.
Candidates with background in biochemistry and physiology and skills in
ELISA, RIA, HPLC, microchemical analyses are desired.
Position 2: To study effects of pheromone release on male mating
competitiveness. Candidates with background in animal behavior and
fisheries and experience in fieldwork and application of microsatellite
markers are preferred.
Position 3: To study signal transduction for pheromones in olfactory
receptor neurons. Candidates with background in chemoreception and
molecular biology techniques are encouraged to apply.
We are seeking qualified individuals to start on the projects as soon as
possible for duration of up to 3 years. Salary range is between $ 25,000
and $ 35,000, with full benefits (medical, dental, 403b). Position 2 is
pending final approval of funding.
