Joaquin,
If you get stuck on that, you might try downloading some software
that I developed some time ago and remains available at no cost from
my web site (http://www4.ncsu.edu/~tkwak). While Pop/Pro software
was developed to estimate fish production rates and variances
(instantaneous growth rate or increment summation methods), it
includes modules to estimate fish populations (density and biomass,
size stratified, including variance and confidence intervals) using a
single-census, mark-recapture method or a multiple-pass removal
method (maximum-likelihood), like the one to which you refer below.
There are Mac and DOS versions of Pop/Pro available, and all the
estimation algorithms and references are given in the associated
documentation. Furthermore, you know where to contact me now, if you
have a question on its use. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Tom Kwak
