Hi Jacqueline,

Regarding your query of
Can anyone direct me to researchers (US and abroad) who are working on:

1) use of acoustic signals to assess fish populations
2) swim bladders as acoustic targets
3) swim bladder structure-function relationships and sound reception

Chuck Wilson and Dave Stanley at LSU have been quite successful employing
acoustics to assess fish populations, specifically using their swim bladders
as targets. I do not have their contact info handy, but you can track down
Chuck Wilson through LSU's fisheries and oceanography program on the web.
Also, Wilson and Stanley have a nice paper published in a special issue on
artificial reefs in the journal "Gulf of Mexico Science" vol 16 (1) 1998.
