FISHERIES SCIENTIST
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
12-month, tenure-track

Required Qualifications: PhD in fisheries science or related field;
post-doctoral experience preferred.

The Department of Zoology at NC State University (USA) seeks
applicants for a 12-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position
in Fisheries Science. This position will address applied fisheries
issues relating changes in habitat, water quality, harvest, and
management to fisheries production and the dynamics of fish and
shellfish populations. Strong candidates will use a combination of
field, quantitative, and analytical approaches to conduct research
that will result in more effective management. The position will be
located at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST), NC
State University's new coastal research facility in Morehead City,
NC. In addition to advising graduate students, the selected
candidate will be expected to establish an externally-funded research
program and an active extension/outreach program, capitalizing on
cooperative relationships with biologists at the NC Division of
Marine Fisheries, UNC Institute of Marine Science, NMFS/NOS Beaufort
Lab, Duke Marine Lab, Carteret Community College, and the UNC Sea
Grant program, as well as other NC State faculty.
