If you are seriously interested in this avenue in B.C., you should contact
the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries and/or the Ministry of
Environment Lands and Parks. Part of the B.C. Salmon Aquaculture Review
and subsequent Salmon Aquaculture Policy involves investment in "green
technologies and closed containment and offers five new freshwater and five new
saltwater tenures that pair conventional and closed-containment technology as
incentives for the development of closed-containment systems".
These five new saltwater tenures are the only ones available now, and at
least anytime in the near future. All other salmon aquaculture tenures remain
capped at the current level of 121.
