Dear netters, some years ago I focused my interest on the Amphiprion - anemone association. Up to that time Schlichter's theory (the fish takes mucus from the anemone and is protected) was last stage. Then in one species I think it was A. clarkii it turned out that the fish is protected since its birth (without anemone mucus). Maybe this is also the case with A. ocellaris (Arvedlund & Nielsen, 1996)? Can anybody inform me on the present stage on this problem? Many thanks Robert
