Official Title: Aquatic Biologist I
Functional Title: Assistant Marine Fisheries Biologist - Statistics Project
Salary Range: $33,937 - $43,792 per year
Location: Gloucester, Massachusetts, USA

Duties: Duties will include, but are not limited to the following, under the
supervision of Division of Marine Fisheries Statistics and Information
Systems Project Staff in higher grades:

-Reviews and pre-edits fishermen and seafood dealer catch
reports/questionnaires before they are entered into the Division of Marine
Fisheries Catch/Effort database.
-Performs quality assurance and quality control review over entered data and
audits fisherman catch reports and dealer reports for validation and
verification.
-Disseminates information in both technical and non-technical reports, and
performs ad-hoc queries in response to requests from other Division of Marine
Fisheries staff, other governmental agencies, special interest groups and the
general public.
-Helps to maintain statistical data and develop new applications on the
Division's web page. Position will play an important role in the project's
conversion from annual/monthly reporting to trip-based reporting to comply
with Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program standards.
-Performs occasional field trips to validate reported data.
