Research Fisheries Biologist (GS 482-11/12) National Marine Fisheries Service Northwest Fisheries Science Center Resource Enhancement and Utilization Technologies Division Manchester, WA
Responsibilities: Conduct research in the general area of quantifying ecological interactions of artificially propagated Pacific salmon with natural populations, and developing innovative juvenile rearing to improve success of fish reared in conservation hatcheries. Conduct studies on salmonid behavior and ecology in laboratories and natural freshwater systems. Write scientific papers for publication, investigate long range and short term problems, and recommend solutions for enhancement, conservation, and protection of the fisheries resource. Write proposal for reimbursable funding of scientific research from outside agencies.
Qualifications: The incumbent must have a Ph.D. or the equivalent combination of professional experience and graduate education in fisheries, or related field and a strong background in salmonid behavior and ecology
Salary: Starting $44,441/yr
