John Doyle, at that time working with the University of Alaska Cooperative
Extension Service in Anchorage, published a paper on edema in blackfish
sometime around 1985.  The paper appeared in the Bulletin of the Faculty of
Fisheries, Hokkaido University, and should be available through the UA
Fairbanks library.  I can't supply an exact citation, but I think he's still
got 49 (you get 50) or so reprints available.
