Hello :

A strange fish was recently caught in one of our lakes here in
Vermont. We weren't able to examine the fish firsthand, as it was
discarded several months ago. It was only brought to our attention
recently by an attentive baitshop owner who took the attached
picture of it when the angler brought it by - wondering what is was.

We, too, are wondering what it was. By appearance, it does not
resemble any fish known to be in Vermont. For scale reference, it
weighed 16.5 pounds and was 32" long. It was caught on a
downrigger set at 32'.

Any ideas would be appreciated. The next step is figuring out how
it got there !

Thanks - Shawn

P.S. Sorry for the large attachment.
