The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish is recruiting
for an Area Management Biologist for the Northern Kenai Peninsula Management
Area. The position is stationed in Soldotna with a starting salary of
$1845.50/semi-monthly. Primary duties include management and supervision of
area sport, personal use and educational fisheries. Management objectives
include achievement of harvest levels as dictated by management plans and
allocation criteria established by the Alaska Board of Fisheries.
Achievement of these objectives require supervising staff to collect and
analyze fishery data according to standard scientific sampling methods,
modifying fisheries by emergency order, and participation in the Alaska
Board of Fisheries process. This requires interaction with other Divisions
within the Department, other Departments and other governmental management
agencies and user groups. The incumbent will directly supervise one Fishery
Biologist II, one Fish and Game Program Technician, one Fishery Biologist I
and one Administrative Clerk II.
