Regarding red drum, we have been able to see the "eye spots" being lost on
this species of fish when raised in captivity, either in tanks (10 and 12
tons) and also in earther ponds and reservoirs.  Fish more that 7 kilograms in
tanks and smaller fish (1 to 3 kilos in ponds).  Not all the fish of the batch
lose the spots, though.  Since we have not been able to breed them in
captivity, I would not think this has to do with offspring produced by
crossing of siblings but rather a condition caused by captivity itself.
