I'm aware of a radio telemetry tag (EMG) that is being used in the Columbia River system on a few projects that is designed to measure energy costs associated with upstream migration in the mainstem or at migration "bottlenecks" such as a falls. I've cc this to David Geist, with PNL who is familar with this research.
