FISHERIES & ALLIED AQUALCUTURES
AG PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Department of Fisheries & Allied Aquacultures, Auburn University is
seeking candidates for an Ag Program Assistant position.  This position is
located in the Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center in
Mobile, Alabama.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assist in research and
extension projects and participate in proposal of new projects; conduct
research field work using boats, heavy equipment, automated water quality
instruments, and SCUBA; perform laboratory work with recirculating systems
and water quality chemistry; perform data entry, statistical analysis and
report writing; coordinate and participate in activities with campus
researchers and students; assist in management of facilities and
equipment; assist in development of extension publications; and develop
relationships with state and federal agencies, volunteers and aquaculture
associations.

Minimum qualifications are a B.S. degree in Aquaculture or related
fisheries science program and experience in aquaculture research and/or
extension programs.  Essential requirements are: excellent interpersonal
and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact with a
wide variety of faculty, students and clientele groups; demonstrated
technical excellence with computers, software and statistical programs;
and demonstrated application of aquaculture principles, fisheries research
and technologies.  Candidate must be currently authorized to work in the
US.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.  Desired
qualifications are: experience in developing and conducting extension
activities or field-based fishery research; B.S. in Aquaculture or
related field with three years experience or M.S. degree in the above
field; and SCUBA certification.
