AZTI foundation offers the possibility of co-financing 7 new 5-year
contracts within the Programme “Ramón y Cajal” (Spanish Science and
Technology Ministry) of Doctors hiring, in the following research areas:

-       3 contracts on Vegetal and Animal Biology. Ecology.
-       2 on Food Science and Technology
-       1 in Livestock and Fishing
-       1 in Economy


AZTI, Fisheries and Food Technological Institute, is a Spanish non-profit
general interest foundation, carrying out research activities from 1984 on
fisheries resources, food technology and marine environment. AZTI has 3
Technical Departments.

OCEANOGRAPHY AND MARINE ENVIRONMENT: offers the knowledge for the study and
protection of marine environment.

FISHERIES RESOURCES: the researches of this department are focused on marine
populations of commercial interest with the final aiming to get responsible
and sustainable fisheries.

FOOD TECHNOLOGY: working to improve the quality and innovation of food
products and processes.


AZTI offers:
A human team of more than 120 high qualified professionals to develop added
value technological projects and services. Infrastructure and technological
equipment divided into two centres in the Basque Region of northern Spain:
Pasaia (Gipuzkoa) and Sukarrieta (Bizkaia): more than 5.000 m2, 9
specialised laboratories, equipment and oceanographic boat. Set up on the
national and international markets: more than 30 European research projects
ongoing, various national projects with public administrations and private
companies from the agro-food, fisheries and environment sectors, and two
other offices in South America, in Chile and Argentina.

The deadline for the proposal submission from researchers is the 8th May.
