PhD assistantships - I currently am anticipating support for one-two PhD assistantships to investigate: 1) the effects of turbidity on foraging
success of water column fishes, and 2) experimental manipulations of benthic
fishes to develop and test models linking resource availability, patch use and population regulation in some southern Appalachian fishes. Both
projects will involve a combination of multi-scale descriptive and experimental approaches. Funding at approximately $15K per year (tuition waived) is anticipated for four years with additional support for some travel. The assistantships can start as early as January 2003. For a description of previous research, laboratory focus and graduate study, please see our web site (URL below). To apply, please contact me by email and include your GPA, GRE scores (verbal and quantitative) and a brief description of your research experience and career interests.
Sincerely,
gary d. grossman
