Dear all,
like many of you out there in fish-sci land, we use tanks to hold fish between electrofishing runs. To date we have been aerating our ca. 100 litre tanks with battery-powered pumps pushing air through small airstones. Recently, we have started sampling larger systems where survey catches have increased and we need to up the ante somewhat with regard to aeration, and are considering use of compressed air or O2 from small cylinders that can be carried easily to the river bank. Obviously, there are issues regarding health & safety, choice of gas/diffuser type etc, hence I would appreciate it if other fisheries workers who use such systems could provide me with their thoughts regarding system design and operation.

Cheers in advance
Chris
