Dear Members:

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the
Sultanate of Oman invites application for the position
of Fisheries Research Scientist (Stock assessment and
Biologist), for the Marine Science and Fisheries
Center on yearly contract.
The incumbent will have the following specific duties:
-

(1)     To review and analyze existing Biological and
other analytical  data available at the Directorate
General Fisheries Resources.
(2)     To contribute and organize field data collection
for the Lobster Project.
(3)     To undertake analysis of the collected data and to
do on job training to the concerned staff.
(4)      To analyze the current status of the lobster
fishery resources and to assess the impact of the
current legislation.


Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Fisheries Biology
and stock assessment with sound experience in the
Lobster fishery, policy analysis and formulation using
data.

Evidence of sensitivity to cultural diversity and
ability to carry out assigned responsibility and to
interact effectively with researchers in the Marine
Science and Fisheries Center and other staff of the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries when it will be
necessary and essential.

Remuneration will be set accordingly to qualification
of the candidates, however salary and other benefits
will be tax free in addition to free medical treatment
in government hospitals in Oman.
