I´m translating a text from the 1920s decribing a room of a disreputable
woman about 1900, where among other things were " g i l t s u n f i s h
and drop chandeliers".

I know that there are many kinds of sunfish, both in North America and
Europe, and that they look quite different.

Do any of you know what s u n f i s h they could have been and what they
could have looked like? Would they have been dried/stuffed and then
gilt/gilded or would they have been artificial?

A-M
