From Thursday the 13th of May till the end of June Moesgaard Museum in
Aarhus, Denmark, will be hosting six canoe builders from Manus Province,
Papua New Guinea - including the artist Joe Nalo. During their stay they
will build an 8 meter long ocean-going outrigger canoe for the museum,
which is to be launched at Aarhus bay before they leave. Meanwhile Joe
Nalo will exhibit and work on his art.
During the process the museum staff will be documenting the work and after
the building is finished the canoe will be on exhibit for the rest of the
summer along with other Manusian artefacts.
