ROALD HOFFMANN was born in Zloczów, Poland in 1937, survived the Nazi occupation, and arrived in the U.S. in 1949 after several years of postwar wandering in Europe. Since 1965 he has been at Cornell University, where he is now the Frank H.T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters and professor of chemistry. Dr. Hoffmann received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1981 shared with Kenichi Fukui, and has received numerous of awards and honorary degrees. He is the author of several poetry books like the Metamict State, Gaps and Verges, Memory Effects and Soliton.

Fyller 20 år
Dialogseminariet, som i år fyller 20 år, är ett samarbete mellan KTH, Kungliga Musikhögskolan och Dramaten och stöds av Vetenskapsrådet. Dialogseminariet ger även ut den prisade tidskriften "Dialoger" vars  hela redaktion består av  forskare, som alla är verksamma inom området Yrkeskunnande och teknologi vid KTH.
