FISH-SCI Members:
I have recently received a number of forwarded emails containing
pictures of deepsea fishes (e.g., fangtooths, gulper eels) that are
claimed to have been found on the shore at Phuket, Thailand following
the recent tsunami. As a scientist, I am naturally skeptical about the
authenticity of these photos and I am curious if any other members have
seen these photos. Several of my students have also seen this email and
have asked me if these fishes were actually found on the shore. Do any
of you have any information about these fish photos?
Cheers,
Paul James
