Dear rainbow trout friends and lovers,
I have been trying unsuccessfully (or incompetently) to find literature on 2 questions concerning health of cultured rainbow trout:
1. Are there any seasonal differences in cultured trout's susceptibility to bacterial diseases? 2. For how long after an accomplished therapy traces of antibiotics can remain in trout's body, and how long can it take until its bacterial microflora will rebuilt in a similar composition and abundance as these before the infection? I presume it depends on the kind of disease, therapy used and on 101 other variables as well, therefore I am thinking of a more or less "typical" disease of trout (body mass 50g) which became infected in fall/winter.
Any references, thoughts and comments are cordially welcome
