How much knowledge of fish do people leave school with?

According to a Reuters report dated 16 March 2005 at the following web
address: http://www.planetark.com/envpicstory.cfm/newsid/29961

a restaurant in Arvada, Colorado, USA called off a goldfish swallowing
contest because of complaints by PETA.  City officials agreed with PETA
and stated, 'the fish was going to be put in alcohol, and that would
burn their lungs out.'
