US lab seek aquatic ecology field technician to help measure effects of nutrient pollution. Candidate must be effective driving trucks, wading in streams, maintaining a sampling schedule, keeping precise records, working with computers and sampling equipment, working cooperatively within a group and contributing to a positive work environment, dealing with adverse weather conditions and noxious plants, lifting heavy weights (up to 50 lbs over rough terrain), and periodically working long days.
Driver’s license, local travel and ability to swim required. Useful skill and information sets include phycology, fish identification, mussel identification, carpentry, stream ecology, and analytical chemistry. Ideal candidates will be meticulous, responsible, upbeat, durable, and productive.
8-10$/hr. Holidays. Some flexibility in May and September start and end dates. March 31st closing date or until application filled.
