Dear Sir,
I'm a PhD student at the Egyptian National Institute of Oceanography and
Fisheries. At the moment, I'm in the final stages of writing up my thesis
on the impacts of coastal tourism on coral reef fishes in the Red Sea. For
my MSc, I studied the distribution and ecology of damselfishes. I'm
planning a further study on the impacts and management of aquarium fisheries
There is an urgent need in our Region for trained reef fisheries'
specialists to be able to tackle different reef fisheries management
problems (especially the assessment of stocks of resident species of coral
reef fishes).
I wonder if you are interested in the management of reef fisheries. If so,
please let me know and then I can discuss my plans with you in detail.

I would like to inform you that there are 18 open post doc positions in the
University of Helsinki. They are 2 year positions. All faculties of
university are covered, including fisheries, limnology and environmental
sciences. Applicants are evaluated according to their merits and study plan.
I would be very keen to get applicants from fisheries or related fields, to
be included to our Bayesian, decision analysis and risk analysis projects,
together with Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute. I can help to
write a proposal which is related to our projects.
