Dear Group,

My name is Amit Goel and I am looking for a research and development
position (e.g. research associate, genetics manager/specialist etc.) on a
project utilizing genomics and molecular genetic techniques for aquaculture
development. I believe that the use of modern genetic techniques in the near
future will be imperative in providing support to the aquaculture industry,
especially in the areas of quality seed production and resources management.


I have following significant experiences in molecular genetic analyses and
their integration into the selective breeding programs and resources
management:
  • Genetic relatedness
  • Pedigree analysis
  • QTL analysis of commercially important characteristics
  • Marker-assisted-selection (or QTL-mediated selective breeding)
  • Population genetics and dynamics
  • Wildlife forensics

Areas of my expertise in aquaculture and aquatic resources management are:
  • Selective/artificial breeding of fish (carp, tilapia, catfish and
    chinook salmon)
  • Operation and management of circular hatcheries
  • Composite and integrated fish farming and fish farm management
  • Fish feed formulation and nutrition regime management
  • Fish processing: quality control and
  • Marketing and budgeting

My long term goal is to apply my extensive inter-disciplinary knowledge and
experiences for the enhancement of fish production and sustainable
management of aquatic resources. I have two post-graduate degrees with a
