      and the Coastal Fisheries Institute
Assistant Professor, Stock Assessment Science


Louisiana State University's School of the Coast and Environment is seeking
candidates for an assistant professor (tenure-track) in Stock Assessment
Science, with a general interest in marine finfish/invertebrate/marine
mammal
population dynamics, stock assessment theory, and advancement of new
techniques in relation to assessment of exploitable resources, especially
as
they relate to ecosystem stability/impacts.

A Ph.D. in fisheries science, population biology, quantitative ecology, or
a
related field is required, and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Candidates
should have a strong background in fisheries science with emphasis on
theoretical population biology and development of assessment techniques,
statistics, and modeling.  The successful candidate will be expected to
develop
a rigorous, externally funded research program; publish in peer-reviewed
journals;
collaborate in multidisciplinary projects; and teach undergraduate and
graduate
level courses in theoretical/applied population biology and stock
assessment.

candidate
