Hi Folks,

Should scales be collected from all fish (at least 100 rainbow trout in
this case) that will be used to generate a length frequency distribution?

For this particular stream, I am assuming that only juvenile trout are
present as adults are known to move back into the lake after spawning.
Furthermore, what proportion of the fish should be sampled for otoliths in
order to validate the scale ages?  Are there published articles dealing
with these issues?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks for your time.
