I find chapter 12. "Bioenergetics" in the book "Methods for fish biology" by Schreck & Moyle very informative with respect to food consumption and gastric evacuation. The reference is: Marshall, A. S. and Breck, J. E. Bioenergetics. Schreck, Carl B. and Moyle, Peter B. Methods for fish biology. 389-415. 90. Betsheda, Maryland , American Fisheries Society.
I have also noticed (but not read) a book by S. D. Gerking, called "Feeding ecology of fish", published in 1994 at Academic Press, which has a chapter called "Models for measuring food consumption".
