During the call (Oct 01 - 30 Nov 15th) for nominees for National
Representatives (2007-2008), several current NRs nominated themselves
again for the position to represent their country and to continue
their support to IOBB by coordinate local activities. After the
deadline of 15 Nov. a discussion (via a private email list) was held
among the nominees and the IOBB planning group to ensure that duties
and responsibilities were clear to the nominees and for IOBB to answer
any questions that nominees may have.
Some nominees from current NRS were rejected because they have or either/or
(i) not submited financial reports for the past 2 years,
(ii) unable to organize any activity in their country during their term as NR,
(iii) have not communicate sufficiently with the IOBB Planning Group
to demonstrate their committment.
Vacant NR positions will give new opportunities to pro-active IOBB
members to represent their countries and to help organize local
activities on biotechnology and bioengineering in their respective
countries.
All nominees for 2007 to 2008 will be elected.
If you have any objections as to why any of the nominees should be be
elected, please send your reasons to [log in to unmask]
Thank you
regards
Jacky Foo
Chairperson, 2004-2006
