First Announcement

We invite you to attend the XII European Congress of Ichthyology, to be 
held in Dubrovnik (Cavtat), Croatia on 9–13 September 2007 (congress tour 
to the Neretva River Delta on 14 September and post-congress excursion to 
the Dubrovnik islands on 15 September 2007). The scientific program will 
include sessions and symposia on many aspects of ichthyology. Oral and 
poster presentations will be accepted. Individuals wishing to organize a 
symposium on a specific topic are encouraged to contact the congress 
organizers or the European Ichthyological Society’s (EIS) Board. 

A call for abstracts and the Second Announcement will be released in 
October 2006. On-line registration and abstract submission will begin in 
early January 2007 with 1 April 2007 as the abstract deadline.
