My wife showed up with a surprising package that claims to be smoked wild chum salmon (Oncorynchus keta) from Canada. Since it is rare to see smoked wild salmon, especially here in Portugal, I checked the NOAA website and see that this species is listed as endangered. Can anyone provide some background information on this?
