Bill,
I double-checked the NOAA website and see that Hood Canal (summer run) and Columbia River chum are only listed as threatened (both in 1999), and while the chum season in Puget Sound and Southern Strait of Georgia was a little bleak last year, those stocks do not appear to be anywhere near endangered status. In fact, the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife website notes that chum salmon are the most abundant salmon species in the region. Your fish, although listed as Canadian, could be from Alaska stocks, the majority which are quite healthy. So, I would say you can enjoy your salmon with a guilt-free conscience.
