Dear Dinis,
Hope the few papers listed below help. I am in a bit of a rush right now so do not have the time to look through my papers in any greater detail but this will get you started.

Persefoni Megalofonou, Constantinos Yannopoulos, Dimitrios Damalas
Incidental catch and estimated discards of pelagic sharks from the swordfish and tuna fisheries in the Mediterranean Sea.
Fish. Bull. 103:620–634 (2005).

Pawson, M. G., and J. R. Ellis. 2005. Stock Identity of Elasmobranchs in the Northeast Atlantic in
Relation to Assessment and Management. J. Northw. Atl. Fish. Sci., 35: 173-193.

Also the paper listed below may be of use. Although the study was conducted in Atlantic Canada it also deals with implications for the whole North Atlantic.

Steven E. Campana, Linda Marks, Warren Joyce, and Nancy E. Kohler
Effects of recreational and commercial fishing on blue sharks (Prionace glauca) in Atlantic Canada, with inferences on the North Atlantic population.
Can. J. Fish. Aquat. Sci. 63: 670–682 (2006)

Also try the IUCN website/archives and the shark alliance website (check the publications section) I am sure there will be some information that will be of value to you.

Hope this helps. Goodluck.

Subject: Longline /pelagic sharks

Hi there

I'm a student and i'm doing a short work on longline fisheries, focusing on
the bycatch of pelagic sharks in the East Atlantic ocean. I found some
papers about this theme, but most are on the Pacific and West Atlantic
oceans. Can someone tell me about 3 or 4 papers on this subject?

Thanks

Dinis
