Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) on Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (Social Anthropology)

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant and will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD. The objective of this pure/applied research project is to develop, through research, community engagement and training, and production of high quality hard/soft materials, an Aboriginal cultural heritage profile for a mid-western NSW Shire area. The successful candidate will be part of an anthropology/archaeology team working with local Aboriginal people.

Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in social anthropology. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens and Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply. The scholarship stipend is $26,140 in 2009 (tax exempt) and additional assistance with field expenses is available.
