University of Hull - Centre for Environmental and Marine Sciences

The Centre for Environmental and Marine Sciences is a specialist department
of the University of Hull with particular strengths in field based teaching
and research.  We recruit some 50 undergraduate students a year from a wide
range of backgrounds, who study for degrees in Coastal Marine Biology,
Environmental Science and Ecology. Our small size allows us to maintain good
personal contact with our students and take innovative approaches to
teaching.  We aim to produce high calibre graduates that can combine a good
theoretical knowledge of their subject with skill and expertise in the
field. Our research is focussed on ecological issues from the shores of the
North Sea to the rain forests of Indonesia. These research interests are
reflected in our strong postgraduate research student community.

As part of the ongoing development of teaching and research in the Centre we
are seeking to recruit an ecologist to add to our research profile and
deliver modules at undergraduate level. Applications are invited from all
disciplines within the field of ecology, though the successful applicant
will be a numerate ecologist with research interests that complement those
currently in the Centre.  S/he will have experience of and also enjoy
field-based teaching whether in the UK or on overseas residential field
courses. Some experience of teaching undergraduates is required and a
relevant teaching qualification is desirable but training would be available
for the right candidate.

Salary range £30,595 - £43,622 pa.

You can learn more about this position and apply online at
www.hull.ac.uk/jobs <http://www.hull.ac.uk/jobs> (vacancy ref: SC0003).
