Dear list

A journalist friend of mine is doing a story on monkfish (Lophius
piscatorius). His editor wants him to explain why this species' liver is so
large/fatty.

I can make some guesses, but he would prefer a more reliable source. I
wasn't able to find anything in the literature. Does anyone have any
informed ideas?

Many thanks,
