Hi All,
We are doing a project on intertidal fish and want to knock them out so that Chris can tag and measure them with minimal stress to the fish. I've used clove oil in the past (cheap and easy to get hold of) but have recently been told by a home office inspector that this went out with the dinosaurs!
I've also been told that in the UK it is ok to use clove oil or 2-phexyethanol to kill fish but not to anaesthetise and bring round and that we should use MS222 (Tricaine methanesulfonate) instead. Can anyone offer some advice/suggestions?
Cheers, Magnus _____________________________________________________________
