M.S. or Ph.D. Assistantships (2-3) in Fisheries Population Dynamics and Conservation
Location: Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA.
Responsibilities: Conduct population dynamics and stock assessment modeling on marine fish species, or evaluate rebuilding strategy on endangered California white abalone or freshwater endangered mussel species. Work on important, relevant research with Virginia Tech faculty in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences and research scientists with the National Marine Fisheries Service or the U.S. Geological Survey.
Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in fisheries, ecology, statistics, or related field. The incumbent must have a strong quantitative interest and background including multiple courses in both calculus and statistics.
Stipend: Annual stipend ($18,500-$21,000) and waiver of tuition for the duration of the degree.
