I support using of formalin. Taking into account our experience for pelagic species 
in the Barents Sea (including herring), small crustaceans and copepods after 
freezing and further defrosting are usually destroyed and cannot be identified. 
Formalin saves copepods in very good condition, what allows to idenitfy them.
