Hej!

Centrum för vetnskapshistoria gästas nu i augusti av Dr Klaus Staubermann från 
Edinburgh.

Klaus är Principal Curator of Technology vid National Museums Scotland. Han 
har tidigare arbetat vid Berlins tekniska museum, och vid Utechts 
universitetsmuseum. Han disputerade 1999 i Cambridge varefter han var vid 
Dibnerinstitutet vid MIT. Dessutom har han varit Visiting Fellow vid Max 
Planckinstitutet i Berlin och vid Deutsches Museum i München.

Han har nyligen publicerat Reconstructions (2011) och tidigare Illuminating 
Instruments (med Peter Morris, 2009), Astronomers at Work (2007), 
Spectroscope Histories (med Charlotte Bigg, 2003, 2004), The Historic 
Dimension of Astronomical Photometry (med Christiaan Sterken, 2000).

Tisdag 21 augusti 10.00 på Centrum för vetenskapshistoria:
Understanding early 18th Century Magic Lantern Practice
This talk is aimed at historians of science & technology as well as art historians 
and examines the possibly oldest surviving magic lantern, describes its 
reconstruction and tries to illuminate 18th century projection culture.

Torsdag 23 augusti 10.00 på Observatoriemuseet:
Recreating 19th Century Astronomical Practice
This talk addresses the various challenges astronomical observers faced during 
the 19th century through reconstructing some of the more important instruments 
and observations. This presentation is aimed at amateur astronomers, historians 
of science & technology and the interested public. 

Tisdag 28 augusti 10.00 på Centrum för vetenskapshistoria:
Models, Practices and Reconstructions @ National Museums Scotland
This talk explores changing trends and traditions in communicating historic 
science & technology at National Museums Scotland (the Royal Museum) during 
the 19th till 21st century and is aimed at museum professionals, science 
communicators and historians of science & technology.
