Assistant Professor of Fisheries Management

Lake Superior State University's School of Biological Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure-track position beginning fall semester 2014 at the rank of assistant professor.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching core courses (Fisheries Management, Fish Ecology, Ichthyology, and Freshwater Fish Culture) in the Fisheries and Wildlife Management degree program and co-directing the LSSU Aquatic Research Laboratory (ARL; www.lssu.edu/arl). Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Fisheries Management or closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment.
The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising, an interest in including undergraduates in fisheries management and culture research and in creating professional opportunities for students outside of class.
The successful candidate also should have an interest in collaborating with other faculty and resource management agencies.
LSSU's Fisheries and Wildlife program has a strong history of working closely with state and federal agencies, as well as local sportsmen's clubs, on inland lake and Great Lakes fisheries management and fish culture, and we seek a candidate with similar experience that would continue this success.

Application Procedures: In order to be considered for this position please apply online at: https://jobs.lssu.edu
