My apologies to everyone on the list but especially to John:
My message was supposed to go to a colleague with whom I have been
swapping conference notices this morning. I made the silly mistake of
hitting "Reply" instead of "Forward".
And, just to make matters painfully clear, I would go to the Congress
in August if it were local. It's just not something that I could
afford to fly across the Atlantic to attend.
