Dear list,
A new course in the Joint Research Centre fisheries training programme has now been launched. The course, titled "Quantitative Fisheries Science using FLR and a4a" will cover practical sessions on using R, FLR ( http://flr-project.org) and a4a (https://fishreg.jrc.ec.europa.eu/web/a4a) for stock assessment and provision of management advice. A detailed programme is available at the course webpage ( https://github.com/a4a/2014-JRC-crse).
This course is somehow complementary to the ICES courses on stock assessment introduction and advanced stock assessment. Our main focus is on the computation (with FLR and a4a) and not so much on the theory, which we expect the participants to already know.
Registration is done through the JRC webpage https://jrc-meeting-registration.jrc.ec.europa.eu/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx .
Best regards and thanks.
EJ
