REPLIES WILL BE SENT TO THE FISH-SCI LIST

Hi All
It seems that my question is very interesting and several people who used otolith did not pay attention to this point. Unfortunately I did not receive any any answer to this question and it is seems it is very difficult one and it should be included in the Ph.D. level.

In all teleosts except the members of the families Cyprinidae and Siluridae, Sagitta is the largest and carry an ornamentation on its surface. In Cyprinidae, Sagitta is the very small and Asteriscus is the largest, while in Siluridae, Lapilus is the largest.
